one possibility is, If you configure filezilla ftp client's default "file
exists" transfer settings to resume instead of "ask", it will automatically
resume every time you connect. you can also set your dialup to automatically
reconnect.
but you are right, a cd does save a lot of time.
Filezilla FTP client can be found at http://filezilla.sf.net and is available
for Mac, Windows.

ftp://openoffice.mirrors.tds.net/pub/openoffice/ is an anonymous FTP mirror in
the USA I think, so it will be slow going to the UK. Openoffice.org took off
the list of all the FTP mirror servers, so I can't list you one in the UK.
All my .ISO distributions are currently only available via http unfortunately,
and they are USA English.

Does anybody know of an FTP mirror in the UK in case David is interested?
