Hello list

Can I put an audio cd into the IDE cdrom on a sun ultra 10 running solaris
2.7 and use cdda2wav to rip audio tracks to .au?

I installed patch 107465-02, turned off volmgt, and messed around with
options like -Icooked_ioctl on the cdda2wav command line but no joy. I
also tried http://dodgers.fmi.uni-passau.de/~claussen/Unix/galette.c which
is a hacked version of galette (http://www.cybersoft.org/galette/). It is
supposed to "bypass the ide driver's lack of CDDA support" but craps out
after writing 470 kB of .au (a few seconds worth, which sound OK when
played with audiotool).

Cdda2wav ripping and cdrecord writing work perfectly with the scsi Yamaha
writer that I have put into the spare bay; I'd like to pipe output from
the IDE drive to the SCSI writer.

Cheers
Daniel
