Hello
My cdrw drive, depiste being only an year and half old, shows some signs of
a premature "death". It is behaving quite odd these days. I can use it to
burn as many CDs as you want if and only if I don't use it to read any CD
(reading CDs wrecks all further burnings, besides the cdrw drive doesn't
recognize standard audio CDs). In case I, somehow, decide it to rip some
tracks using cdrdao (because of driver problem I can't use the CDROM), I
need to shut down my linux box for an hour and then I can burn CDs again.
Out of curiosity, can someone tell me what the problem is? Is it a laser
problem? Or a mechanical one?
Thanks for your time.
Eduardo
