I figured as much but I though I would ask.. Its quite annoying when doing 
repeated simulations.

I am using the default settings... But dosen't cdparanoia use the same setting by 
default as well?  

I forgot to mention that I think there may be a hardware issues here as well. I 
get like 2 million Q CRC errors. Where as on the machine that has the R55S (and a 
PCI SCSI card) only gets 2500 or so.  Does the --speed parameter apply to DAE as 
well or is that set by the drive?  Could all those CRC errors have caused the 
audio artifacts I heard?  Are CRC errors corrected for or re-read?
