Sound good, this feature will do just what I need. :-)
An alternative could be $INS_BASE/default/cdrecord for cdrecord and
$INS_BASE/default/rscsi for rscsi. When one changes INS_BASE the
default files will be placed in the new installation root as well.
The point is that I use a different INS_BASE value for each version
of cdrtools, generally something like /pack/cdrtools.<version>. So having
the default file locations being determinated by INS_BASE will be just
perfect. :-)
