Hello,
I have problems with writing to a Pioneer DVR-S201 on Solaris 2.6 for SPARC
with cdrecord-prodvd-1.11a13-sparc-sun-solaris2.6.
I've tried to create a DVD using the examples in the ProDVD/README, which
gives the following on an 856MB file created with mkisofs 1.14:
{mdt370:root}# cdrecord dev=0,4,0 -dummy -v somefile

Using libscg version 'schily-0.5'
atapi: 0
Device type : Removable CD-ROM
Version : 2
Response Format: 2
Capabilities : TERMIOP SYNC
Vendor_info : 'PIONEER '
Identifikation : 'DVD-R DVR-S201'
Revision : '2.14'
Device seems to be: Generic mmc2 DVD.
Using generic SCSI-3/mmc-2 DVD-R/DVD-RW driver (mmc_dvd).
Driver flags : SWABAUDIO
Supported modes: PACKET SAO SAO/R96P SAO/R96R
FIFO size : 4194304 = 4096 KB
cdrecord: Drive does not support TAO recording.
cdrecord: Illegal write mode for this drive.
After this I tried it with the option -packet which gave the same error as
above, and -dao resulted in:
{mdt370:root} #mkisofs --print-size /export/cdrdata /usr
...
436800
{mdt370:root} #mkisofs -R -J /usr /export/cdrdata | cdrecord dev=0,4,0 tsize=436800
-dao -

Starting to write CD/DVD at speed 1 in write mode for single session.
Last chance to quit, starting real write in 8 seconds.

I have no clue as to why this doesn't work, so I'd like to ask you kindly
if I'm doing terrible things here, or if something else could be wrong.
I'd be more than willing to provide more information when needed.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Pieter
