  I always use InMac media when I suspect a problem there. I have done no 
statics, but having burned CDs since this list was about cdwrite and 2X 
burn was the new technology, I can say that for whatever reason I have 
had zero cases where any brand worked better (ie. in a drive where InMac 
didn't) for either the burn or reading, particularly in crappy old 
drives. I still have a few systems to support with proprietary drives 
hanging off ISA Soundblasters, and those drives are very picky.

  I'm sure there are other good brands, but that's my experience. I do 
use cheap media, but if "100 for $22" no-name media fail I blame the 
media first ;-)
