I believe Joerg Schilling's cdrecord-ProDVD will do what you want (see the cdrecord website); you can also use the patch by Nicolae Mihalache available at http://www.abcpages.com/~mache/cdrecord-dvd.html to roll your own, unsupported DVD recording solution. I've used the latter with no real hitches so far (fingers crossed!).
