I didn't see anything which seemed to help, let me offer this: did you use
the -audio flag when burning the CD?

Also, if you know how long the recording was supposed to be in real time,
does the wav file length match the playing time in sec times 44100*4
(44.1k sample two channel 16 bit) more or less? That would at least tell
you if the sample rate is correct (I suspect it is).
