??? /dev/hdX is not supported although it may work. If you have problems
with the bad design in the Linux kernel SCSI implementation, you should try
to caontact the Linux kernel guys. These guys are not very friendly with the
interface design and it seems that in special Linus Torvalds is either not able
or not willing to understand how a decent kernel interface would look like :-(
