Oops: shame on me: I didn't see there was another binary :-(
I have now the "good" cdrecord-prodvd-1.11a40-i586-pc-linux-gnu

#!/bin/tcsh
setenv SIZE `mkisofs -J -r -graft-points -q -print-size -V $1 $2`
setenv CDR_SECURITY
"8:dvd,clone,lowspeed:sparc-sun-solaris2,i386-pc-solaris2,i586-pc-linux,powerpc-apple,hppa,powerpc-ibm-aix,i386-unknown-freebsd,mips-sgi-irix,i386-pc-sco:1.11::1042635989:::private/research/educational_non-commercial_use:aCg/AHuy1PMxLCsx2xjfMAoBhFw0E3RhlOtAeuIWvw1SpuBTCq272uPr8ck"
mkisofs -r -graft-points -V $1 $2 | cdrecord-dvdhack -v dev=2,1,0 fs=32m speed=1
-eject -dao -overburn tsize={$SIZE}s -

And I am just writing my first DVD-R as a backup!!!

Now it has done 1.6 Gb: TREMENDOUS ;-)

It's the first time I use IDE device, I don't know how to put DMA on it,
as it use ide-scsi???
But the dmesg shows me DMA on hdc: it should already be mentionned!!!

Well, as cdrecord-prodvd works perfectly for me... I will just forget
the cdrecord-dvdhack ;-)
Maybe on 15 january I should reconsider it (but I will use my DVD-+...
only for private use and I am still student: the key won't certainly be
too expensive for me...).

So far so good for my first DVD-R... under Mandrake cooker ;-)

Well, of course I could, but as I don't have thought there could be a
problem with it I didn't go at every shop to find media (it's was really
hard yesterday to find DVD-R media also... I mean at a good price).
I have the DVD+RW that came with the drive...

Thank you very much for all and an happy Christmas ;-)
