I cannot find any hint regarding this in the announcement files.
I've grepped for "root", "uid" and "install".
Just the remark that the uid is reset to that of the user when a datafile is opened.
in AN-2.01a13.
Nothing about a new installation method or precautions for installing suid root.
If you could lead me to the file you mean that would be greatly appreciated.
