growisofs 5>=3 does perform explicit media re-load in a "convincing" manner after recording. "Convincing" means that block buffer cache is purged. Need for re-load is not an issue in dvd+rw-tools context. > Do try it with a more working kernel. There were problems with SG_IO issued directly against /dev/hdX, last issue fixed in "last minute" prior first 2.6 cut (see dvd+rw-tools page for references). ide-scsi.c appears to be working for most people, but support is not really favored. I mean if it will appear to be the culprit, I'd recommend to just switch to /dev/hdX. > There were some changes for > cdrecord post to LKML, I don't know if they made it to the official > source code cdrtools 2.x should work and were reported to be working with dev=/dev/hdX. > I highly > comment the -wli kernels for desktop! If -wli includes "variable HZ" patch, then I should recommend to favor vanilla kernel. A. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
