growisofs 5>=3 does perform explicit media re-load in a "convincing"
manner after recording. "Convincing" means that block buffer cache is
purged. Need for re-load is not an issue in dvd+rw-tools context.

There were problems with SG_IO issued directly against /dev/hdX, last
issue fixed in "last minute" prior first 2.6 cut (see dvd+rw-tools page
for references). ide-scsi.c appears to be working for most people, but
support is not really favored. I mean if it will appear to be the
culprit, I'd recommend to just switch to /dev/hdX.

cdrtools 2.x should work and were reported to be working with
dev=/dev/hdX.

If -wli includes "variable HZ" patch, then I should recommend to favor
