The correct syntax is the syntax mentioned in > the man page dev=b,t,l Which man page, where? I don't see any manpage for cdrecord or libscg in my distro. (Ubuntu) $ man libscg No manual entry for libscg $ man cdrecord No manual entry for cdrecord See 'man 7 undocumented' for help when manual pages are not available. I saw the dev=/dev/cdrom notation in https://help.ubuntu.com/community/CdDvd/Burning Hence I have no idea what dev=b,t,l mean >> >> I have a Liteon DVD writer+ CD-Writer. >> >> >> >> This is the output when I use scanbus >> >> >> >> $ cdrecord --scanbus >> >> scsibus1: >> >> 1,0,0 100) 'LITE-ON ' 'DVDRW SOHW-1633S' 'BS0S' Removable CD-ROM >> >> 1,1,0 101) * >> >> 1,2,0 102) * >> >> 1,3,0 103) * >> >> 1,4,0 104) * >> >> 1,5,0 105) * >> >> 1,6,0 106) * >> >> 1,7,0 107) * > >> > It is correct, but in case you only have one drive in your system, >> > there is no need to specify dev= at all. >> >> >> Then, in my case how should I have given it? >> like this ? >> >> cdrecord driveropts=burnfree -v -data cd_image.iso >> >> Also is there a syntax or notation of speed which can be >> put up somewhere? > > cdrecord by default uses the max possible speed. See the man page for more > information. Again no manpage. Although doing $cdrecord --help tells me few things. dev=target SCSI target to use as CD/DVD-Recorder speed=# set speed of drive I would be filing a bug if there is a manpage for cdrecord somewhere. Just found it and filed a bug at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cdrkit/+bug/321530 > Jörg > > -- > EMail:[email protected] (home) Jörg Schilling D-13353 Berlin > [email protected] (uni) > [email protected] (work) Blog: > http://schily.blogspot.com/ > URL: http://cdrecord.berlios.de/private/ ftp://ftp.berlios.de/pub/schily -- Regards, Shirish Agarwal My quotes in this email licensed under CC 3.0 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/3.0/ http://flossexperiences.wordpress.com 065C 6D79 A68C E7EA 52B3 8D70 950D 53FB 729A 8B17 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
