> Do you still have problems with cdrecord on Solaris ? Thank you for asking Jörg. Today I made some progress. Sorry I have not had time to look at the USB driver bug.
Previously I was using the JMicron JM20336 USB-SATA bridge. Now I have the JM20329, apparently a simpler (and slower) chip. The BH08LS20 drive connected via USB 2.0, using blank BD-R disc. Now I no longer get the I/O errors for cdrecord -atip (or -v -minfo). However, even though cdrecord -atip shows that the disc is blank, when I try to burn, cdrecord gives "capacity is unknown" message. Please advise me what to try next. Here is the output from the attempt to burn image to BD-R. Below that is the output from -v -checkdrive. # cdrecord -v dev=5,0,0 speed=2 driveropts=burnfree image.iso cdrecord: No write mode specified. cdrecord: Assuming -sao mode. cdrecord: If your drive does not accept -sao, try -tao. cdrecord: Future versions of cdrecord may have different drive dependent defaults.
