Invitation to STEP Conference #2

The EC-funded project STEP: a Strategy for the EuroPhysiome Coordination
Action 027642 is organising the conference, Towards the EuroPhysiome , to be
held in Brussels on 5-7 November 2006.

This is a one-off event to assist with the strategic development of a common
European approach to the human physiome and provides an opportunity for the
Community at large to join fully in the discussions related to that
strategy, and to influence the course that the development will ultimately
take. Given the significance that work on the Virtual Physiological Human is
expected to have in Framework 7, the timing of the conference is
particularly appropriate.

Registration for the conference is now open. You can register by emailing
Prajay Kamat at:
<mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]>[EMAIL PROTECTED]

The number of delegates is limited by the size of the auditorium, and
applications will be treated in order of receipt. Current interest levels
suggest that the conference will be fully booked, so early registration is
advised.

However, please note that as there is no registration fee for the
conference, and we want to make the event accessible to as many delegates as
possible by reducing the number of applicants who register, but do not
subsequently attend, all applicants offered places will be asked for
confirmation of attendance nearer the time.

This will be performed by replying to an email sent by us on 2 October.
Failure to respond to this will mean that the place provisionally reserved
will be passed to another delegate.

There will be a conference banquet on the evening of Monday 6 November,
which all delegates will be welcome to attend. To allow us to gauge number
attending, this will have to be booked in advance, shortly ahead of the
conference. Full details will follow.

The first public draft of the Roadmap to be generated by the STEP project is
now available at:
http://www.europhysiome.org/RoadMap

Comments, suggestions, disagreements, etc., are welcome from everyone
- the process is intended to be fully inclusive of all interested parties.

Yours sincerely,

Marco Viceconti
Scientific Coordinator, STEP Project
