8/24/2007, 9:57:51 AM Heading down the road at 5:43am. Things sure have changed in the past few weeks. Its still black outside when I get up and heading down the road. And by 7:30pm to 8:00pm its almost total darkness again. And the birds are emptying the feeders at a very fast pace now compared to earlier in the summer. They know what's coming soon. Heading west on Rt. 90 to exit 43 and hop on to Rt. 21 north into Palmyra. In the Village I stopped into a gas station/market to get coffee. Got a nice big cup of good coffee for free. They weren't totally open yet and couldn't ring anything up, so, no charge. 7:02am I arrived at Palmyra Cemetery on Johnson St. just off of Main St/Rt 31. Judson Vinegard 1872- ____. Carlton A. Picked up 9 flags and 25 pots of flowers in this "Fatality Estates" and walked 9.6 miles and vacated at 3:51pm. By mid Sept. the cemetery trips will end for about 2 months. I found out for sure that the right ankle was fractured in Sept. 2006 when all this pain started and then healed on its own. Told the Doctors I had a pain and still do. So now the surgeon has found a large piece of bone in the ankle that doesn't belong there, not sure if its from the brake or it grew there?? but he's going to cut it off Sept. 26th at 8:00am. Apparently its pinching the Achilles tendon. One reason I take so many pain pills while out in cemeteries. And then thinking back to last Sept. the damn thing was broke when I went to Montreal................... Now I see they are baby hawks with white down on them making them look like baby eagles. They didn't seem the least bit put out by my presence. Momma hawk was in the tree above maybe 30 foot and she was keeping a good eye on me the whole time. Guess she could tell I wasn't going to hurt her kids. These babies are about the size of seagulls and momma was just plain huge. It appeared they were eating and pulling apart a morning dove which no doubt momma up in the tree had caught for their lunch........... One would eat as the other would fly/hop up on top of a headstone and then they would change positions. Guess all the wild animals seem to like the cemeteries to raise their young as I've found over the years. Its a Nature Preserve as well as a Dead Preserve.
