Odd, I just got under a large old tree to look at further stones and there are dozens of (tennis ball green colour) balls under this tree. They are a bit smaller around then a tennis ball, but they look just like them none the less. Picked one up and they smell like a lemon. Someone(later) said it was a nut. As I already have the photos as I write this, it was an exceptionally nice sunrise in this cemetery as the sun was breaking through the trees, around a mausoleum and headstones. What I really like especially at this time and in rural areas, no noise, no movement, everything is just so very still. Hmmmm maybe its like being dead???????????? 10;05am brings me to Pioneer Cemetery on Rt. 21 in Manchester. Elihu Osgood died Jan 8, 1863 age 91 years. Ebenezer Pratt died Sept 24, 1813 age 70 years. Almerian Dunham 1830-1914. Rhoby Brown Born May 1, 1782 and died Dec 16, 1861. Lucretia Corbey died May 24, 1812 age 7 months and 17 days. George Dater died Jan 9, 1866 age 52 years. Appleton Andrew died Nov 25, 1815 age 52 years "Short, is our longest day". James Coopper died Sept 27, 1819 age 55 years. Samuel J. Thorn Born Jan 2, 1779 and died April 21, 1862. This place is in very bad shape. Most headstones are laying flat on the ground and I have to clear them off in order to read them. Its right next door to the Baptist Church. Thomas Lathbury 1810-1888. Dunster George Hickmott 1827-1903. Walked .7 miles in this "Casket Jungle" and vacated at 10:49am. 10:55am brings me to Coopers Cemetery on Rt. 21 north of Manchester. David i. Traver, War of 1812 and died 1849. Evin Fitzgarald died Oct 5, 1815 age 69 years and 1 day. Mercy Hurlburt died May 19, 1831 age 2 years and 4 months. Townsend E. Dewey, Co, D, 126th Regt. N.Y. Vol. died May 6, 1864 age 17 years. Emily A. Pendill died Jan 17, 1857 age 15 years 4 months and 11 days. Walked .2 miles in this "Village of the Vanished" and vacated at 11:06am. 11:12am brings me to the General John Swift Cemetery on Maple St. in Palmyra. Its up a steep hill right across the street from a church where a funeral is in progress. It appears many years past someone thought to put a set of stairs all the way to the top in order to access the cemetery. I had to park 3 cars from in front of the hearse.............................they didn't put a funeral flag on my car............. Fanny Woodward died Dec 9, 1837 age 19 years. Klein Woodward died Feb 6, 1854 age 38 years. Alvin Smith son of Joseph and Lucy Smith died Nov. 19, 1823 age 25 years. Asa Lilly died Jan 26, 1844 age 67 years. Jacob Bortles died Aug 11, 1836 age 28 years. Next is the General for whom this cemetery is named. Gen. John Swift who was killed by the enemy of his cuntry(country)(< they spelled things differently back then.........LOL) July 12, 1814 near Newark(Ontario) in U.C.(Upper Canada) aged 52 years and 25 days, War of 1812. This place is also in very bad shape and very much neglected. Walked .3 miles in this "Cadaver Commune" and vacated at 11:36am. 11:43am brings me to Macedon Cemetery on Erie St. South not far off of Rt. 31. The first guy belonged to the Book of the Month Club............. Reading Gibbs died Feb 16, 1863 age 11 years. Burtis R. Watkins died April 9, 1891 age 35 years and 7 months. Thought, I'm sure you have all heard and or made the comment about something in Heaven. Such as, is there ice cream in Heaven? Are there libraries in Heaven?
