35F/3C and out the door at 5:48am

 

Today I'm heading south on Rt. 81, to areas just north of Binghamton. And

as this is really unfamiliar territory for me, I have no idea how far I'll

get today. Or where I'll end up.

 

Going by Tully, N.Y. there are some large patches of snow in them thar

hills and its 28F/-5C in this area at 6:21am.

 

6:59am brings me to Whitney Point, N.Y., Riverside Cemetery and its

27F/-5C here.

Walked 1.7 miles and picked up 1 flag in this "Land of Prisoners of the

Soil", and vacated at 8:49am.

 

8:53am brings me to Lisle, N.Y. Cemetery on Rt 61.

Just come across and good sized sun dial and it reads 10:10am but the

actual time is 9:37am. Someone needs to adjust that.

 

In loving memory of Marshall Lord Curtis Brown Captain in the British Army

who died in London, England April 19, 1928 aged 32 years of sickness

contracted in the Battle of the Somme in 1916. (Sounds like the effects of
the

poisonous gas shelling's, of which the sickness could go on for years and in

this case, sure sounds like it)

 

Philotus Edmister Born July 8, 1827 and died June 16, 1877. (I never heard

of Edmister before, but I do remember Mr. Ed...........)

 

De Lifa Brayman died March 16, 1862 age 5 years and 5 days.

Walked 1.1 miles and picked up 1 flag in this "Underground Hotel" and

vacated at 10:14am.

 

10:23am on Rt. 11 just north of Castle Creek by Bowman Lunber I spotted a

tiny cemetery. Nothing interesting to report and walked .2 miles and vacated

at 10:33am.

 

10:37am brings me to Castle Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Nothing here to

report and vacated at 10:46am and did .2 miles walking.

 

Rt 11 just south of Castle Creek a small no name cemetery.

Walked .2 miles and vacated at 10:59am.

they were paying $14 Per Hour for people to mow the lawn here. He says,

"Cant pay what they pay in the big cities though" Wonder what they get in

Syracuse??????????????????
