Billy, I think this just might be another attempt of liberal American self-righteousness. The world knows we're after the kill but we pretend it's all about a "fair trial"...What about Pat's point. On one hand we try to kill them - no questions asked - and on the other we're trying to give them a "fair trial"? What's up with that?
Also, as you put it "As for a fair trial, in this case, what would be wrong with a military tribunal?" Does the WH think that a tribunal would not be fair? Democrats have institutionalized the loathing of the American military. At one level I can see the angle of "they killed in NY, therefore they will be judged in NY", but is it really worth the risk and the circus to do this? Is this possibly one way to keep the "Bush legacy" alive for just a little bit longer? Can BHO win a 2nd term without running against Bush? // Lennart
