Well, I live in a northern suburb of Dallas. Our problems here are
basically that we get too blasted hot in the summer, and not cold
enough in the winter to have "real snow." Ice storms? Oh yeah, we get
those. Houston is too hot and humid. I used to live near the coast. You
must have missed the east Texas Piney Woods and the far west Texas
mountains. Of course, it would take all day to completely cross the
state from east to west. More than a day to cross from Brownsville to
Amarillo. We have lots of Armadillos and you really shouldn't touch them. Only if they have been cleaned real good are they any good to eat. I refuse to disclose my arsenal. But yes, we are just south of Oklahoma. Outside of the liberal haven of Austin (I blame the University of Texas), a property owner can generally be assured that they will not be prosecuted for blowing away a burglar. If they DO get prosecuted, then the District Attorney can count on a tough reelection, if not a defeat in the primary. Now I'm webatching the SOTU on the FOX News website.
