I'm not sure we're talking about the same kind of innovation. Medical Research
(funded by the government and pharma) has historically been strong, but
generally created new drugs and more expenses. That's not a bad thing, but
what I'm talking about is *platform* innovation -- changing the way medical
care is delivered and "consumed." From my perspective, hardly -anyone- has
been doing much innovation in that space. The best ones, ironically, are the
V.A. and Kaiser, of all people; they may actually be able to do a better job,
especially in a cost-conscious environment.
