The 76-year-old CNN broadcaster, who has been married eight times, filed for divorce last week from singer Shawn Southwick, the mother of his two youngest children. Now he is facing increasingly lurid claims about his tangled love life. While King faces claims he had a fling with his sister-in-law, Southwick was said to have been carrying on with their sons' former baseball coach. Affairs: Both CNN broadcaster Larry King, 76, and his eighth wife Shawn Southwick, 50, have been accused of cheating during their marriage Hector Penate, 31, told America’s In Touch magazine that he started sleeping with King’s 50-year-old wife after they met in 2007 when he was coaching the couple’s sons Chance, eleven, and Cannon, nine. ‘We had sex in bed – a lot,’ he is quoted as saying. ‘I had sex with Shawn while Larry was on TV. Our sex life was real good.’ He even claimed she wanted to have a baby with him. But Penate says the TV stalwart didn’t object to the affair because he was allegedly seeing Southwick’s sister, Shannon Engemann, 45. ‘I think to this day that Larry is in love with Shawn’s sister,’ Penate told the magazine. ‘He told me one time, ‘Have you ever seen Shannon?’ After I said that I had never met her, he said, ‘Oh, oh – she’s really gorgeous.’’ Engemann told the New York Post the accusation that she had an affair with King was ‘ludicrous.’ Southwick has also denied a relationship with Penate. King has been married to seven different women, but this is his eighth divorce because – like actress Elizabeth Taylor - he remarried one of his former spouses and later divorced the same person a second time. In December, the National Enquirer magazine also claimed the TV host cheated on his wife with Engemann. The couple are said to have had an 'explosive argument' at their Beverly Hills home before their split. ‘His major concern is about the welfare of his children and beyond that he will have no further comment about the divorce,’ said King’s spokesman Howard Rubenstein. Minutes after King filed divorce papers in Los Angeles Superior Court last Wdnesday, Southwick filed her own documents. Both cited ‘irreconcilable differences.’ Southwick boasted on their tenth anniversary that she was the only one of King’s wives ‘to have lasted into the two digits.’ In 2008, the 5ft 10in tall beauty went into rehab for an alleged addiction to prescription drugs.
