We use the 800GB version as journal devices with up to an 1:18 ratio and have had good experiences no bottleneck on the journal side. These also feature good endurance characteristics. I would think that higher capacities are hard to justify as journals

They've performed flawlessly. In practice, journals will typically be quite small relative to the total capacity of the SSD. As such, there will be plenty of room for wear leveling.
