Herbert Chidaya Sponsorship Manager -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Daud Suleman Sent: Thursday, October 16, 2008 6:20 AM To: [email protected] Subject: {CEZOBAL} Re: Chairman Trophy games Helebati *** guys, if you seriously think we cant manage 5pm then we can change the fixture, i hope that ABC will not cut the lights mid way through a game**** Trojan V Blazers @ 530pm. i picked 2 points from your email and here my little explanation: 1)Games going to ABC WE initially scheduled to have the games at Silver Court but as you may be aware Rocky is getting engaged on Sat and as such Trijans made a request to have their games shifted from Saturday afternoon so that they could attend the Chinkhoswe. This being a tournament and not a league, it would have meant that games be halted mid way on Sat, if Trojans were still in contention, so as to allow them to attend the chinkhoswe. Trojans proposed that they start on Friday and they proposed to play at ABC, we asked them to facilitate that with ABC and let us know what ABC said. ABC then said we should paid 6,000. 2)Who pays? Blazers and Mimbulu could have said Trojans should foot the bill since they are the ones who instituted the change of venue in the first place but we decided that every team should foot a 2,000. The tournament is a CEZOBAL event, all teams make up CEZOBAL of which ABC is also a paid up member. I also asked the same question about 3,000 per game when we pay 700 per night to play in the gym and i was advised that "Training" is different from "games" and the whole day wil cost 40,000 Mind you, BASMAL paid ABC 80,000 for hosting the international games earlier this year.Personally, i dont agree with these charges and the attitude that ABC or who ever is making these money making decisions.. The question come in thta what will happen when ABC starts playing their league games? Will they let other teams come to play at ABC free of charge or we will keep paying for us of the gym? How does ABC benefit from these 6,000 or 40,000 they are collecting form basketball people? How is ABC contributing to the social needs of the people around their college i,e,basketball players? Since ABC basketball team has gone down under in terms of skill and strength, things have changed dramatically at ABC. I remember they used to provide transport for other teams during the night friendlies when their team was good. I personally has trained with ABC, given transport money and even sneakers!! The first ever sneaker i wore was from ABC because they had a good team back then and they always wanted good ballers around their team. but today, they are like milking back from us! Lord forbid. Its high time we make a stand and move forward. No wonder we chose to play at Silver and we shall continue to play there. We may spend days talking about ABC but this is a wake up call for all of us to get OUR OWN GYM and then we can make up our own decisions. anything is possible if we can get up and work together to get our own facility...but our mindsets and attitude right now cannot allow us to even try and do something towards that goal. this then challenges all of you to seriously consider how you can help CEZOBAL to get an indoor facility with which we can use to play games. finally, please contribute to the FLOODLIGHTS projects as we are still looking for funds!!
