With due respect can the observations be channeled through your either captain
or team manager ohter than everyone askinghis or her questions please.

gather all your queries and write up something and submit to BASMAL. I find
this degrading the governing body.

  Dear Roy

I seem to be finding it hard to understand your point number 2 amongst the
arguments thats qoutes: In international Basketball, it is inadvisable to play
2 games in the same day let alone 2 within a 3 hr period. I wish to advise you
that almost all the other teams includig ours have been asked to play more than
one game in 3 hours this season in more than one occassion. I am sure that
everyone including you saw the fixtures on the forum and yet nothing of this
kind was pointed out. Is it a must that an action must be taken after an
appear. Our team never complaned about this because we understood the
circumstances the gentlemen you asked to run things on this side were in. There
were so many teams and we had to finish playing by a certain date for other
events to be encorparated) e.g all star, chairmans trophy etc. Thats how the
league has been played through out the season, my argument is if we and all
the other teams complain that we have been playing 2 games in less than 3 hours
and that led us to loose some points, would Basmal take any action, maybe
replay our games, or award us points. As of know the league is finished and we
have accepted that mimbulu are our champions based on how the league was
played, but am afraid that your decision might just change the outcome of our
league if we all complained and you had to act at this time.

Personally i have really enjoyed the season this year, and I am impressed
with the way the cezoball gentlemen have run it, the action they took on the
blazers were based on what every team was meant to or not meant to do this
season for it to be run properly. If all the sudden you come back to us and say
blazers have been reverted because of the arguments you have stated, then I ask
you to consider our team and all the other teams that have faced a similar
situation this year, or maybe you might leave things as they have been and
compile another list of rules and regulations that will be abide by carefully
next season. Again that is just my thought. But I do expect a responce fmom
Basmal.

  Subject: {CEZOBAL} Blazers Appeal

  Ladies and Gentlemen,

Basmal was approached by Blazers with an appeal on the decision taken by
Cezobal to fine Blazers an amount of MK15k.

Their arguments in summary were as follows

1- As a sportsman, if you say you are tired and cannot continue with a game,
you cannot be forced to continue the game.
2- In international Basketball, it is inadvisable to play 2 games in the same
day let alone 2 within a 3 hr period.
3- The team was adequately punished by giving up their right to continue with
the tournament.

As Basmal, we felt that we needed to make an independent analysis of the
whole situation. We therefore decided to exclude all interested parties. These
were

Jacob Chikoya, Interim president of Cezobal and one of the people that made
the decision to institute the fine
Daud Suleman, Interim Secretary of Cezobal and member of Mimbulu
George Phiri, interim Treasurer of Cezobal (at the time) and member of Blazers

The following were consulted in this decision making process

  Oscar Kanjala, President of Basmal
  Roy Kachale, Secretary of Basmal

To ensure independence, we also incorporated help form other non interested
parties as follows

  Chimwemwe Mhone, President of Nozobal
  Willard Kachikwati, Secretary of Nozobal
  Hope Chisamanga, Secretary of Sozobal

The unanimous decision was as follows

The punitive measures instituted are not proportional to the offence
committed, the forfeiture of the game was punishment enough. Therefore,

1- Blazers should be reinstated into the A league with no points deducted
from any of their league games
2- There can be no restriction on the participation of any of their players
in the National team or the all-stars
3-Since there is no written rules that state that a team that forfeits a game
be fined MK15k, or indeed a precedence of the same, Blazers should not pay the
fine. If Cezobal wants to include that as part of their new rules, they can do
so but not retrogressively.

I am sure that this clears all the bad air that was surrounding this issue.
Should anyone have any queries, please feel free to contact me.

  Roy Kachale
  Secretary
  Basmal
