I think i like the interest and passion that is being poured out here.
BUT, i have a few contributions to make:
on the elctions, lets be careful not to set a bad precendence for the
next elections, what happens here will defin how the other elections
will take place, thus can i propose the following procedure which was
adopted by BASMAL at the Salima AGM;
1)BASMAL announces date of election and invites people to submit their
expressions of interests
2)Interested people should should their EOI papers stating:
1)Position they wantt o stand for
2)What qualities they have
3)what they will bring to the committee
4)What vision of developmental vision they have for the game
3)BASMAL releases the full ist of nominees
4)On election day: give every candidate 5 - 10 minutes to give their
agenda and manifestos
In this way, every memmber voted into office will be held accountable
to theuir written promise and they will always be up to fulfill their
goals.
This, however does not take away what is happenign on the forum right
now.. like what kayakangu has donem, he has stated the position he
wants and why he thinks that position is important to CEZOBAL, same
Gwaza and his fundraising..
In this case, if the game ends up with low profile and publicity, we
all hang Kayakangu! if CEZOBAL ends up with less than 500,000 in its
books by Dec 2009, we all QUESTION Gwaza or fire him because we have a
basis with which we can ague.
I think we are organised from teh onset, we will achieve it.
People should come into office with objectives and roles they will
play, rest we end up with a treasuer who cant account what Gwaza
brings!
