Dear CEZOBAL Chairperson, Firstly may I congratulate you and the entire CEZOBAL Committee for a job thoroughly well done, right from the running of the league, the gala night on Saturday, and the plans for the forthcoming 2010 season. It is all extremely motivating. My sincere apologies, however, for seemingly taking everyone back when everything seems to have ended so well. On behalf of 12 Disciples, I would like to kindly request a little clarity on what criteria were used to award 3rd position in the league to Capital Blazers. It would seem the third position was awarded to Blazers due to the fact that they won one game, and we won none, i.e. a sort of league/points based decision. However, you will note that this (seemingly) points-based decision may be undermined by the fact that Cougars still played in the final game, even though Mimbulu had won 3 games during the playoffs, and Cougars had won two. If Cougars had won that final game, they would have been crowned CEZOBAL Champions, despite the fact that they had won less games than Mimbulu during the playoffs. Following this line of thinking, therefore, it would seem rational to some quarters that the third and fourth teams (after the playoffs) had to play for third position, just as the first and second teams did for first position. Now the whole focus is on the ABC Invitational starting from the 10th of December 2009 and the crucial Malawi National Championship starting from the 18th of December 2009. Teams going to represent CEZOBAL in the Malawi National Championships are the CEZOBAL Champions Mimbulu, the Championship Runners up Cougars and Blazers. We as the CEZOBAL Executive Committee are going to do everything in our capacity and will leave NO stone unturned to make sure that both trophies remain in Lilongwe, especially the National Championship which has eluded us for a very very long time. The MALAWI ALL STARS TOURNAMENT will be held on the 16th of January 2010 and those who didn’t get a chance to see the brand new CEZOBAL All Stars Kit being unveiled at the CEZOBAL Gala Night, will get a chance to see our All Stars team wearing it.
