I have cross-checked with our captain and the information that he has is the same that he shared with us before the playoffs finished, i.e. that it was still being decided (at the time) whether a third place playoff will be played or not. This is probably why the initial fixture had a game slated for 1pm (before the final game) but only indicated “To Be Announced (TBA)”. Indeed, you will recall that, at the instruction of our captain, one of our players called you on Saturday morning enquiring if we had a game, but he was told that there would be no game. It is accepted that the issue of third place was not discussed further with this player. However, this clarity still seems to be outstanding at the moment. We, therefore, kindly request you to give us an indication on when we will receive this official communication, clarifying the method used. We also kindly request that this be done as soon as possible, bearing in mind that there may be need for further discussions among all concerned parties, and also bearing in mind that the competitions in which the team in third place is supposed to participate in, are close at hand. It is all extremely motivating. My sincere apologies, however, for seemingly taking everyone back when everything seems to have ended so well. On behalf of 12 Disciples, I would like to kindly request a little clarity on what criteria were used to award 3rd position in the league to Capital Blazers. It would seem the third position was awarded to Blazers due to the fact that they won one game, and we won none, i.e. a sort of league/points based decision. However, you will note that this (seemingly) points-based decision may be undermined by the fact that Cougars still played in the final game, even though Mimbulu had won 3 games during the playoffs, and Cougars had won two. If Cougars had won that final game, they would have been crowned CEZOBAL Champions, despite the fact that they had won less games than Mimbulu during the playoffs. Following this line of thinking, therefore, it would seem rational to some quarters that the third and fourth teams (after the playoffs) had to play for third position, just as the first and second teams did for first position. The above notwithstanding, we kindly request your clarification on this matter, Mr. Chairman.
