It shouldn't concern you. It's totally normal. When a company goes public,
the principals usually are barred from selling stock for a period of time as
it would put pressure (or dilute) the current number of shares available
shares in circulation. His shares are technically in circulation probably
has had to hold onto them. (This is why disclosure is necessary when large
blocks are sold by principals as when this happens it usually lessens the
demand a bit.) When you look at the number of shares traded on a daily
basis, it's a small percentage of the whole.

What you need to look at is the trend of the market vs. the trend of their
stock. What was the price at when he sold it? There seems to be support
for the stock at about $32-33, when it hits there (where we are now) it
usually bounces a bit. Did he sell at a peak in the bounce? (If so, it's
only smart business - if he sold low, it could be a sign for concern because
he would be dumping shares at an undervalued price.

The question of concern may or may not be for the company. At one time the
stock was worth almost 3x what it is today. If he was over zeleous with his
purchasing power at that time, he may have personally over-leveraged himself
thinking that he'd continue to be worth 3x that of what he is now.

Anyhow, he's just cashing in some on his good fortune and hard work. He may
be starting other ventures, he may be purchasing real estate. Who knows.
None the less, he's pulling money out of the market. He likely ownes a few
million shares. 140,000 shares probably isn't the lionshare of his
holdings.

Does anyone have any knowledge as to why J.J. Allaire keeps periodically
selling large chunks of Allaire stock? The last I can see is 140,000 shares
on 8/4/00. I own some shares and this is starting to concern me. I can
understand doing some diversification but enough all ready!
