Anyone else implemented an MP3 server on their LAN? We've got several
hundred CD's that we've ripped and encoded, plus a few thousand singles.
These are mostly 'distributed' around the office on individual computers.
I've set up a database and a couple forms on our intranet for making entries
in the db. Then we've got a CF application to navigate to individual albums
(haven't cataloged the singles yet) and files are served via
file://computername/... links, rather than http. Album covers are
downloaded from www.allmusic.com and displayed as links.

Looking for additional ideas. Maybe on implementing a jukebox or something
similar. We're going to take an old PC and install NT or W2k and a couple
of 45meg drives to become a dedicated music server.
