So have people at my company. 6 months does not equal 1 year, especially not
back at the beginning of January.

I actually I saw a post for a job in 1999 requiring 10+ years experience in
HTML and Java.  Since HTML has really only been about since 1992 or so, and
Java even less, I passed on that job.
