Have you configured the "Server network utility" and "Client network
utility" (from the start/programs menu). The only time I've set this up is
on Win2k Pro (on a laptop) when I used SQL Enterprise manager to admin the
databases in MSDE. I seem to remember having to use "named pipes" to get to
the laptop from a local copy of the EM and TCP/IP if using a remote copy of
EM. Either way Named Pipes and TCP/IP connections need setting up before
that will happen.
>How can I find what username/password msde has set itself up with???
Won't it be username "SA" and what ever the default password is (which I
can't remember, could just be null?)
