Or power plants and t.v., radio, and cable centers. No power + no
television/radio (cutting the power isn't good enough since people have
generators) would have a pretty devastating effect if you add in random acts
of violence.
Nervous people + no reliable communications = chaos.
Hmm, although, would it be possible to take out the phones as well? They
work w/o power? Although I bet 30% or more of the population use portable
phones, not the old "connected" type. :)
It would be an interesting topic for a dissertation - "How do you take down
a country w/ minimal cost?"
Another stray thought. You know how hackers deface web sites? What if
instead of defacing they added false stories? Imagine if cnn.com were hacked
and a story about an alien invasion or whatever was posted.
