agreed. parents are responsible. however, too many of them are into their
own lives way too much: worried more about their own interests, regardless
of economic status (e.g. they could be more interested in the game on
saturday or the cars they drive).

and yet when their kids go ballistic, they point the finger at games and
television. whatever they point the finger at, why didn't THEY do something
about it beforehand?

we all have to be self-concerned to a *degree*, but i think you'll find the
parents of these kids are selfish to the extent it damages any notion of
parent/child relations, if there were any there to begin with.

too many parents don't discipline their kids and they grow up with no
consequences. these parents should be tried in court in addition to the
minors (at least the ones that live).

That's your first problem, Nick. You assume that parents feel responsible
for their children's protection. Don't you get it - that's why we have TV
and the vChip. Lord forbid someone turn off the TV if they don't like what
their kids are watching.

p.s. Ok, so I'm being a bit over the top here. Most parents _do_ take care
of their kids. Again, I'm referring to those who feel it's someone else's
problem/fault/etc.
