The thing is, there will always be an element in society that either due to
some mental illness, attitude or abuse will function in a destructive
manner. It would be like expecting to get a winning hand every time you
played poker. Humans are far from perfect and sometimes we produce - to put
it bluntly - monsters.
The best we can do as a society is plan for this; provide help; and in the
worst case scenaria make it dificult for these people to harm themselves or
others.
