I swear .. the kids these days. It seams like they start causing social
disorder younger and younger these days. I mean, this girl is only 12 and
she's already experimenting with the sign language. Many 'officials'
believe that the sign language can become a stepping stone to more 'serious'
forms of sharing potentially dangerous thoughts and ideas, such as writing
and, God forbid, even speaking!! This is a serious concern that is often
overlooked, but which none of us can afford to ignore. I applaud this
principal for helping to make our schools' busses a safer environment for
our children. Please, won't *you* do what you can to save the children?
Todd (With a *DD* and very little patience for stupidity)

| Talking of teachers, this week's
| EEJIT OF THE WEEK AWARD
| goes to: J. Harry Westerholm, Principal of Stony Brook School in
| Branchburg, New Jersey!!!
|
| Danica Lesko (12) has had a hearing problem ever since a fellow student at
| her school set off some fireworks in a hallway. So Danica learned sign
| language to communicate. Principal Westerholm threatened to suspend Danica
| for "doing sign language after being told it wasn't allowed on the bus".
He
| said "sign language, or any behaviour, is not permitted if it is going to
| cause a disturbance on the bus." Words fail us, and so do signs.
