Yes, CF does ignore 'null' values in a list.. One thing you could try would
be to do a replace on the list and replace ",," with ",||,", or some other
funky char. Then you could count the number of || and treat them as nulls.

Subject: Strange Behaviour in Lists
| Hi,
| I have encountered a problem with lists in cf for the first time and maybe
| any one amongst knows the workaround.
|
| Here's what is happening :
| <cfset mylist="1,,34,you'll never know,25,'',45">
| The problem is that cf ignores the nil enteries.
| i.e <cfset mylist="1,,34,you'll never know,25,'',45"> is read as <cfset
| mylist="1,34,you'll never know,25,45">
| .. But i need cf to give the position of null values as well.
| Even listlen function ignores the nil values and gives the length of the
| list with the null items removed.
| PLease note that i have no control over the list items. I get them from a
| diferent system .
| Thanks In Advance.
|
| Sincerely,
| Amit Talwar
