And I thought from the subject that he was talking about us.

So last night I made a comment in a mailing list. (Basically, this club
promoter was explaining a point for the people who had failed to comprehend
it the first two times and failed to read the info the other 3 or 4 times.
I was scanning the thread to see if it contained any new info and was
distracted by the presence of my last name in the message. So I bothered to
read it. No new info.) So here's my comment:

"I want you people to know that this street named Larkin is really throwing
me off. I have spent years scanning email for keywords that tip me off to
the need to read the message. Since that's my last name (and a relatively
rare one at that), that's a keyword that I tend to pick up. I mean, it's
not used anywhere else. Until now.

"These clubs on Larkin St need to move. The addresses are inconveniencing
me. So it was written and so it shall be saucy."

Apparently, he took me seriously. I am now officially a twit in the eyes of
some random DJ/club promoter. I got bitched out for ever scanning email
because it's amazing what I'd learn if I trudged through and read every
message like everyone else on the list. So it was written and so it shall
get me flamed! People are just sooooo cranky sometimes, and I've found that
it usually happens when I'm in a good mood. Maybe it's just that I'm
obnoxious when I'm in a good mood, but I thought the sarcasm was pretty
clear. Survey: Was the sarcasm clear to you or am I just going mad?

I'm in such a good mood. Mr Cranky the DJ sure isn't changing that.
