I much not to try and 'get a tan'. I never did get very dark even when I
was young and foolish about trying for that elusive 'perfect' tan. I only
turned golden after an all too painful bright red.

Fortunately, I came to my senses about the harmful effects too much sun can
have on my skin type (fair haired - fair skinned) at a fairly
reasonable/young age (ok, so it wasn't until I was 23 - still that's fairly
yoiung). Must've been that waitress my sister and I saw when we were
younger....her skin, while sporting this deep tan, looked like badly cured
leather - all wrinkled...and I don't think she was all that old. Now, even
though 40 is only two years away, I still get mistaken for being in my mid
to late 20's. :oD

The Other Judith :o)
pale and more than happy to stay that way - cuts down on white make-up for
the 'goth' look ;o)

>Whenever anyone asks "You went on holiday, so where is your tan?" my reply
>tends along the lines of "I wasn't so boring as to spend my time sitting
>around on a beach... I went and DID THINGS"... tends to put people off
>asking again <g>
