Actually, I believe it was DuPont who was the heavy hitter behind making
marijuana illegal. Because they didn't want a more durable natural product
- hemp fibers - to be direct competition for their synthetic fibers.
Hemp rope is still the strongest by diameter....it's what most shipyards
and docks use to hold those supertankers in place. :o)
