I definitely think they're running a "New" Coke, "Old" Coke gamble. The
whole hand holding an object is what we all know, the brand recognition is
centered on the familiar logo. I like the Macromedia accents with the little
compass points and all but they should not lose the hand and lightning bolt
thing, they should incorporate the entire CF logo.
I might be able to understand if they came up with a more catchy replacement
logo, but one single un-adorned lightning bolt doesn't do much for me. It'd
be like Intel dropping the "Intel inside" logo for a big 'ol "I" They'd lose
the recognition that is associated with the logo as a whole.
Is JRun going to be similarly treated to a new Logo?

Subject: ColdFusion Logo
Two weeks back we asked subscribers to Fusion Authority to give us some
feedback about the new ColdFusion logo. We got a handful of responses, but
they really weren't enough. I'd like to know what you, the ColdFusion using
community thinks about the logo. Also, if its not to your liking, please
tell us why and what could be done to change it. I know Macromedia is
listening and we'll compile all the results into an article for a future
Fusion Authority.
If you don't want the world to know your opinion about it, you can email me
directly with your comments.
