Very true actually.  Most of the Calories in beer come from the alcohol and
malt contents.  The more malt(sugar) the more alcohol and calories.

So if a beer is 5.5% alcohol (Like Budweiser) it will have more calories
than Guinness at (approx. 4.5%).

What I like to say though is it doesn't matter the calories, since there is
no fat in beer.  (True)
All of the calories in beer are Carbohydrates.  So you can burn these
calories off easier... unless you drink one evening and then end up sitting
on the couch or in front of a computer the following day or two.
