To summarize our issues with the publisher's of the ColdFusion Developer's
Journal:
So it was about 2 1/2 weeks ago that I mentioned the CFDJ password thing.
I emailed CFDJ on May 24th asking about getting a password.
I mentioned that I've been a subscriber since Issue #1, yet no response.
They STILL haven't replied yet.
We've talked about their problems in this list since then...
As someone who HAD considered attending their CFDJ "ColdFusion Edge"
conference in NYC this year, I consider it a complete failure on their part
that they couldn't even respond to my email.
I have a cut-off. I give five business days to executives that I know
aren't digital-friendly to respond and then if nothing... I presume that
they couldn't be bothered. As publishers of a digital (ColdFusion
even) -based periodical they need to get it together!! (BTW - Folks I know
are digital, like the publishers of a CF mag, I expect a reply within 24
hours.)
Don't get me wrong, I am a great proponent of what they do! I value their
articles very much. Especially Ben Forta's monthly (and just as much the
other topical articles) but as a publishing house they sure need to learn
how to connect with their readers.
I guess, considering some of the responses in this list, maybe I should just
sign up for a second subscription but not pay for it!! ... in order to get a
password to the archives?? Then I'd even get a second copy for free!
Thanks, Tim

If you figure out how to get a password let me know. I've written two
articles for them and have been a subscriber for three plus years and have
yet to receive a password. I even let my subscription lapse and signed up
again using one of those annoying little cards and now I get two copies and
no password. I also started getting the Java Developers Journal out of the
blue about a year ago. Trying to straighten this out is like dealing with a
billing problem with Network Solutions. Forget it.
