Michael,

Excellent idea mike go for it - regarding the suite.

Anyhow about Stan Milligram - although his obedience studies were very
important - probably some of the most important recent studies in Social
Psych, his later work I consider really brilliant. One thing I was really
impressed with when reading about the study was the Cyraniod study. This
study had people interacting with a confederate. However the confederate did
not directly respond to what the person said, rather he or she parroted what
another person was saying in response to the subject's conversation. This
other person listened to the conversation via a microphone in the test room.
He or she would respond to the conversation which would be transmitted to an
earphone in the confederate's ear. Here's the cool thing, Milligram
systematically manipulated the gender of the person who was responding for
the confederate, and there was no difference in the subject's reaction.
Similar results were found with age (young vs. old), disability, education
etc.

Another cool study Megrim did was the original 6 degrees of freedom. He
asked people to get letters from New York to Los Angeles without mailing
them, just by handing them from person to person. On the average it took 6
persons to complete the chain.

regards,
larry

And I'm going to get you chained to a few of those mad trinnies. Just you
wait. Gandhi was my political stance. Milgram is my personal one. :)
(for those who don't remember milgram, he's the psychologist with the
electro-shock authority tests).
