Granted of course Judith! But that's only a concession to be granted to
those of Jewish faith!(or non-Christian also).
Shouldn't pro-death Christians be able to reconcile the Old with New?
(BTW, I am not implying that all Christians support the death penalty just
that there are some who do.)

OK, at the risk of offending believing Christians here, I can't accept the
Mathew quote as a basis for discussions of "what the bible says" because I
don't consider the NT (New Testament) part of the Bible. It's a Christian
thing, not a Jewish thing.
(This is not meant to hurt or upset anyone; Please accept it in the spirit
it's said.)
I think we should stick to the parts of the Bible we can all agree are
Canon. The first three quotes are the only ones I would discuss.
