Brian,

Props for serving in the military. I appreciate your service, as does my
family. You have a friend in Georgia if you ever need one.

If you read your message from a different angle, you can probably see how it
sounded to me. It really did sound like someone yelling "protect me!" to
the government, and that is something I abhor, and find weak at its very
foundation. If that's not what you meant, then perhaps an explanation might
help (if you care to give it).

I have lived in the worst parts of Atlanta when I was just starting out, and
I am a minority in my own heighborhood -- which is exactly the way I wanted
it. Have you heard about Atlanta's crime statistics? They used to be the
highest in the nation, and they are still pretty high.

If the power goes out here, then we won't have to call the police when the
criminals come a-callin'. We'll just need to call the coroner for our
uninvited guests when it's all over. That isn't a bunch of useless macho
talk, I assure you. It is every citizen's duty to protect his own family by
his own hand, and not to rely on the government to do so.

BTW, the "Respectfully" is in my email signature. If it was inadvertent
before, it is intentional now.

Respectfully,

Adam Phillip Churvis
