What! Didn't even notice I was gone..and unsubscribed and all that!
Hostpro.net really got me extermely upset. we host Carigamer.com with them, and
apparently they happily changed over all our
mail accounts to IMAP accounts or something like that, without informing us.
Their sales people knew nothing, and a lot of their techinical staff knew nothing as
well. So of course with IMAP you need to
use [EMAIL PROTECTED] as the username , instead of just gel...so the server kept
throwing a username/password rejected error
and I couldn't get mail. Not knowing what the heck was going on and envisioning a
bouncing mess going back to the mailing
lists I'm a part of, I unsubscribed from them.
Really bloody frustrating!
Finally tonight, from home, I managed to get onto someone at Tech Support who informed
me of the 'mixup', but couldn't say
why teh emails weren't sent out simultaneously to account owners informing them of the
change, or better yet! Send emails out
a week or more in advance telling them of an IMPENDING change!
OH!
And the best part is they still have the OLD Admin Control Panel up, which does
absolutely nothing since the changeover.
The Tech support guy stammered and attributed it all to a 'hiccup'.
I still haven't gotten an email reply from the three emails I sent to them over the
web about the problem. *sigh*
I don't care HOW good your service, or affordable...if you have poor service such as
this and the right hand not knowing what
the left is doing..you're going to lose customers.Growth is one thing, but Hostpro
seems to be gobbling companies up,
Vservers,Netservers.net, and now Interland...and their organisation structure doesn't
seem to be doing too well through it
all.
:-\
I'm heading to sleep...anyone seen Adam around? Did I miss any cool posts?
heh heh :)
