Training is Necessary.
Training helps you even after the exam.
Training is better than Cramming and having photographic memory.
Training prepares you for practical tasks.

Hi,
I just passed the certification test this morning with a very high score and
earned the "Advanced Certified ColdFusion 5.0 Developer" title. I didn't
take any training classes, but there are a few good books, internet sites,
and programs that may help you. A good book is Ben Forta's "Certified
ColdFusion Developer 4.5 Study Guide." The author's website at forta.com
has some practice tests that really test your knowledge. A good program to
use is CF_BUSTER, which gives 61-question practice tests *very* similar to
the real exam. I didn't buy the whole program, so I could only access 61
questions, while the full version has over 500 in its database. A good
internet site is http://www.cfcertification.com/, which has some practice
questions and study guidelines.
Overall, I don't think you really need training to become certified, you
just need to do your homework by studying CF books and websites.
