I was in New Orleans last June for a convention. It was *very* hot a humid.
The French Quarter is the place to be as far as night life. From what the
locals told me and from what I could see for myself, the crime rate there is
pretty high. All the locals wanred me and my friends to always stay around
crowded areas or we could be in trouble.
The public transportation system there is excellent. Every time you turn a
corner there are several cabs waiting to take you to where you want to go.
The local bars are a great place for good music and a taste of the culture.
